Day 10 - Aguaparque
We are very content with the outcome of this week's court "lottery". Our lawyer thinks our case may go through faster than expected. Hooray!
They say that in Cali there are 17 000 taxis. A lot of those run 24 hours a day. It is never hard to get a cab, and the prices are more than reasonable. But the traffic here is just crazy. Red and green traffic lights are not taken seriously, and if you stop at a stop sign, you are asking for trouble. All the local drivers honk all the time, and crossing the street is the only true part of the rumors about how dangerous a place Cali is. As passengers, half of the time we're sitting on pins and needles as the drivers avoid one minor accident after another; the other half we dare not look.
Today we went to an aguaparque. See the pictures. Our kid sure isn't afraid of water! In fact, he loves to be completely under water!
On the way from the hotel to the aguaparque, as we were threading our way thru an intersection with heavy traffic in all directions, one bit at a time, we saw a weird sight: A man with a white walking stick crossed the intersection right in front of our car, zigzagging between the slowly moving cars! It looked like he was blind, but he was unaided and not afraid of crossing the street by himself.
Only in Cali!

Hallo Jelena and Ulf,
SvarSlettby coincidence, I today discovered your blog.
We are Susanne and Matthias from Germany. We are appreciative for 2 brothers and sisters from 0 to 5 years. Our document was sent to in the middle of May 2008 also into the region Valle del Cauca. We wait times more or less patiently and hope to receive soon a child proposal from there.
Thanks for the interesting reports from Cali. In the “Pension Stein” are also currently Irene and Alex with her children Paola and Armando. We know from a forum.
The world is so small:-) Tell them please many greetings from us.
Many greetings from Germany

Hello, Susanne & Matthias!
SvarSlettYes, we have become friends with Irene, Alexander, Paola, and Armando. In fact, it was their suggestion that we go together to the aguaparque yesterday. Paola (5) is great with our child (3) — she looks after him so well when they play togegher!
We will tell them you said hi!
